I lived in Carol Stream, I live by it now. The Carol Stream police pull EVERYONE over and issue tickets. They are a moneymaking machine. I got pulled over once at gary and north avenue because a cop didn't like that I was driving faster than he was. Tried to get me for tailgating the person in front of me. I asked him how I can tailgate someone if we are both accelerating to the speed limit. He didn't have an answer, and let me go.

The tickets they write on North Ave alone probably fund the entire city. It's 8 lanes wide and the limit's only 45. Trucks go like 65, so it seems painfully slow.

Drive North Avenue from Oak Park to St Charles and if you see 10 cops sitting with a radar gun, 9 of them will be as you go through Carol Stream. I don't know about the rest of the town, but they are always out on North Avenue.

North Ave is 45mph(I believe). If you make a turn from Gary to North ave and are accelerating to 45 and the cop is going 30, don't think that is street racing.

I don't take route 64 to the city anymore because of Carol Stream cops.

That and 88 is much faster. They'd nail you for 46 in a 45. It was (and I assume is) terrible.
