If the local paper in your area ran a story that said that you raped the toothless drug addict who was hitting on you a while back, you would be upset correct? Suppose the paper reported the story as 100% truth and nothing that you said or did could change people's opinion of you. That would not be right of the newspaper to do that to you.

Anecdote of the day -

Back in the late 80s early 90s I worked at a office where these group of guys just preyed on women. Guido types.

These dumfucks would come into work talking about sex all day. If there was a 20 something in the office, they’d arrange fake meetings with them. If you saw them they’d literally be hanging over the woman.

One day I noticed one lady very uncomfortable like she was going to cry. I stopped and asked her if she was ok. She sheepishly said ok. I said u don’t look ok.

I get off work walking to my car and the pack of these guys confront me. One pauses me against the car asking why I was trying to mess with his pussy. I was like fuck this. I’m not going to get beat up over this as I needed the gig at the time.

I’m sure you guys have similar stories. I wish I had the balls back then but I was trying to put food on the table and a roof over my head and it was too much a risk.

This is the natural progression of stuff like this. Sure, all these famous people are getting accused of harassment (and worse), but nobody is going to jail. People are getting paid off in most instances (or so I assume). Not to throw a blanket statement out there, but some of these accusers are likely not seeing what they believe to be justice being served, so now let's blame the media for using the legally correct terminology.

If Bill Cosby isn't going to jail, then neither is Weinstein, Spacey, C.K., Lauer, or anyone else.

Sexual harassment is not a crime. Sure, you are protected from it within a workplace setting, and a harasser can lose his job over it, but nobody is going to jail from walking around the office and calling the secretary Sugartits. It's not a crime unless it starts to deviate into the category of assault.

This will be true for about another 5-10 years. Depending on Trump's reelection.

After that it'll be criminalized. Sweeping "anti-bigotry" legislation that'll redefine language as violence will hit the USA. It'll be considered assault to misgender someone or make any sort of sexual comment about somebody in public. There is 100% chance of this. The liberals will pass it as retribution for Trump.

If someone would have told me years ago that there would be "Pronoun Committees" on college campuses as well as Safe Spaces where students could watch videos of frolicking puppies and have cookies and milk when they got distressing news I would have thought they were nuts.

There are already groups of people have begun referring to language that is critical of them as "violence" so I would not be surprised if, as America says, legislation is eventually passed redefining certain language as violence.

I think everyone puts too much stock into what "those people on Twitter" say.

They have infiltrated the bureaucracy and higher education. Dissenting thought is already shut down as violence in academia and, increasingly, the workplace. It isn't that much of a leap to shut it down in public.

There will also be privilege taxes that redistribute money to the historically oppressed. That'll be the moment to renounce citizenship, turn in your passport and go anywhere that can take you. If I were white or even just a man I would be making arrangement to get out and stay out, I sure am. Not being prepared for this reality now is the difference between landing in continental Europe/Australia/NZ (with basically the same level of economic development you are already used to in America) or being what amounts to an economic refugee in a shithole like the Philippines or Belize.
