MANY must believe that a car won't hurt them. Every day there is a gang of cyclists that refuse to stop at a stop sign on Wells and every day there is at least 1 pedestrian who believes that they can walk slowly in the middle of the street and no car will hit them. South siders are far more respectful. Only women slowly cross the street and they have the decency to do it at a stop sign.

Not all of the time. You have a few and you can normally spot when they're about to do something dumb. I had to slam on my brakes a few weeks ago and yell at some lady for darting in the street. She yelled back "it's a crossing path." I had to tell her not when a car is passing by driving 35 mph. This morning a teenager was about 6 inches from a car slamming into her for carelessly walking across a street on her phone.
