he's accused of using an emulator rather than the arcade cabinet to record his high score. as you know emulators can be manipulated. and in some cases his scores are deemed "impossible" by realistic standards.

they compared his video with the arcade output, and apparently there are differences to how levels load between the emulation MAME and the arcade cabinet game.

i don't remember that one, but some kind soul has the whole documentary "the king of kong" up on youtube. this will tell you all you need to know about billy (and the tape he sent in = what got disproved recently)
