Terry's Peeps wrote: And you're gonna name another new combined parish Home at St. Jerome? Really? Yeah, that's pretty lame. But that world is breaking up now. In spite of all the bad things Catholic schools and parishes have done, they did a lot of good things, and it is sad to see them go. Just a different way of organizing life, and one that I assumed was the same everywhere. (It wasn't.) |

I once sat in on a meeting with an Arch employee ranting about how she did not understand how the sex abuse scandals were causing people to turn away from the church. Saving money on insurance cost by closing schools. They have also told pastors to stop giving money to support their schools and let them close if they can not stay open on their own. |

They can't close St Gabriel,if they do they still have to maintain and upkeep it as it is on the national historical list. The kicker is keeping the other 4 open. |

I don't think they understand what consolidate means. Just like they don't understand what "don't rape kids" means. |

Well he was the Nativity/St. Gabes pastor. 3 weeks ago it's announced that he won't be pastor anymore but he will still be priest at Nativity. Then last week (after the story broke on the news and in the paper) he's pulled from Nativity. Then this week the Archdiocese finally decides to write a letter and include it in the bulletin. All the while, nothing is communicated to the school beforehand so parents and school officials have to hear about it on the news. They're more concerned about hiding than about parents and parishoners. Fuck them. |

The Hierarchy of the Church has been messed up for some time and bringing that guy in was the worst possible thing ever. I'm a Catholic and I long ago decided to practice what I was taught morality wise but when the leaders of my Church delve into politics and social justice, I tune them out because in my opinion most of them are blatant hypocrites. |

The first Pope was exiled because he was a pederass. Everyone realizes this, correct? |

A lesser person would turn that back around and talk about the incredulity of someone from Canaryville getting in trouble for fooling with a minor. Fortunately I am not that person. |
