Quote:
"Pissed me off. That's my true answer," James said after pumping in 15 points with 12 assists in the series opener. "It pissed me off, because out of 101 votes, I got 16 first-place votes. That's what pissed me off more than anything.

"You know, not saying that the winner wasn't deserving of the MVP. But that pissed me off. And I finished second a lot in my career, either from a championship, and now four times as an MVP."

The use of "pumping in" as a setup wrote a check LeBron's point totals couldn't cash. My Lord has anyone so blatantly tried to dress up 15 points from a scorer? A scorer who, mind you, in the next breath, patriots about not being named the most valuable player in the league.

Is the idea that if you’re being honest, it can’t be considered whining?

I dont know for sure, but maybe if you get less than 16% of the vote you didn’t deserve to win.

Oh, brother. I'm not so sure that I find that a truthful statement, Mr. James, given some team hopping over the years.

He's just a whiny bitch. He opted out of the social justice messaging because he was not consulted on the terms to be chosen from.

I think he meant choosing not to put a slogan on the back of his jersey.

I don’t think anybody can credibly say James has not been outspoken on this stuff going back years.

He’s complaining about not winning an award he had no business winning. I’d say it’s a fair nomination.

LeBron was on the Lakers last year and they sucked. Then they get Anthony Davis and they’re great and.... LeBron is mad he’s not the MVP? PM you gotta admit he sounds ridiculous.

Lebron at this point is pacing himself during the regular season. It is a regular season award so he is probably not going to win many more of those.

It actually might be true. I remember him saying early on that his goals were to be a billionaire and "global icon."

He has the right to think he deserved more first place votes, even though I think he's wrong. Giannis easily outdistanced himself from every other player in the regular season, so why should any other player receive first place votes? Also, whether it's unfair or not LeBron is going to be somewhat penalized for playing with an All NBA first team talent like AD, when the best player surrounding Giannis is the rather inconsistent, non-explosive Khris Middleton.

i have a feeling hes pissed because the MVP gets you a big payday

either way, hes just voicing his opinion. i dont have a problem with it. hes not wrong, but i agree its probably better to keep shut about it. then again, nothing changes if you dont squeak.

I think he’s at least partly considering his legacy and fairly or not, people use MVPs to differentiate between the all time greats. In this regular season, I think he’s entirely wrong; in no way should he have received a single first place vote over Giannis.

But hearing him complain brought me a little joy so I’m all for it.

giannis was deserving. but lebron was this year too. theres rumors that giannas hates his teammates, and players talk to eachother so i would imagine lebron thinks he deserves it more because he brought another shit team together and they all get along... whereas milwaukee its likely giannis is leaving them.

LeBron wasn’t deserving at all this year. There’s no case to make. He’s the 2nd most valuable guy on his own team.

Unless social justice falls into the China side of things. Then the NBA and James quickly change their tune.

I think he's like Jordan in that he makes up reasons to get mad and prove people wrong. He's the 2nd best player of all time. He's a decent person. Who cares? Theres a lot worse out there that will bang their chest for doing their job. Lebron aint perfect but he plays end to end. A lot wont and most cant.

This is hardly the only time he’s been a whiny idiot. He wanted Daryl Morey punished for retweeting free Hong Hong.

He seems to ramble a lot. I still don't know exactly what his point was. Either he deserved it or he didn't.

But hey, at least he knows what all smart basketball fans do that he finishes second a lot.
