don't know what you are talking about but she was a great gymnast and seems like an even better person. Gymnastics seems like it torture on a young woman's body.

She is really old for a female gymnast, isn't she?

maybe she's showing solidarity with Naomi Osaka. Osaka bounced without a medal after the Japanese let her light the Olympic cauldron.

in the US qualifying her outfit has a bedazzled GOAT on it.... this is not GOAT behavior

maybe it's a jay cutler MCL sprain, is she standing on the sidelines looking not injured with a winter coat on?

I kind of admire the hustle, but jesus christ can you at least fake a real injury instead of this mental health retarded shit.

I think your answer is a few posts up.

She’s a winner whether or not she won because reasons.

Catching up with Simone Biles as she conquers the biggest hurdle in her life. How to have positive mental health as a retired multimillionaire.

I get the pressure of an Olympic/professional athlete having to perform. I'm sure its immense, and most of us can't relate.

But this is her job essentially. And its an event that happens once every four years. Because of the pandemic, she had an extra year to prepare and there are almost ZERO people in attendance! Come the fuck on. I honestly have more sympathy for Yermin Mercedes who had to go out there every day and wear it, or Jake Arrieta who was a Cy Young winner and now would struggle to strike me out.

If you can't take the heat, get the fuck out of the kitchen.

And this isn't her first rodeo. This is someone who is supposed to be the GOAT, who has been on the biggest stage dozens of times. That would be like Tom Brady not coming out for the second half of the Super Bowl because of nerves.

Post subject:  Re: Simone Biles

So, I know I haven't posted this really publicly here, but my niece (my sister's daughter), whom I helped move from Maine to Orlando a year and a half ago (I know I've mentioned that), the reason being, she is training for the US Gymnastics team and the trainers being in Florida.

Anyway, shortly after getting down there, she injured her foot. It has since healed, but I know she's had to fight through the mental side of things. Making sure the sticks landings on the beam in a certain way, same on the open floor, etc. Back in May, the US Gymnastics team had a developmental meet. While she did well, I (personally), think she is missing a certain "pop" in her step/routine/etc. So I can bet that each move she's making, when she's rotating back around, she's thinking about her foot first and maybe not being as focused on the move she should be doing. Just an Uncle's perspective though.

So I get Simone's mental hang up. After seeing her awkward landing on the beam. Maybe she (Simone) thought she didn't have it and was thinking better to pull out and save it for another day, instead of damaging it and perhaps ruining her career.

She then went on and cheered on her teammates and was there to support them.
