And I love that the foreigners are increasingly playing baseball and basketball which are great sports. We have a European guy racking up 30 points and triple doubles every night and a Japanese guy pitching and hitting at Cy Young and MVP levels.

Soccer players are better all-around athletes, I'd guess, but I don't know if Lionel Messi could be a fighter pilot like LeBron could.

I don't think so. Messi dominates the sport and on size along likely couldn't play any major American sport besides maybe baseball or be a kicker in football.

The most versatile athletes are basketball players. The hardest sport to play is probably hockey.

I don't know if you can determine the best athletes in the world but if you could I don't think Messi standing in a room with the best people from all the other sports would ever be the one you choose.

as far as best physical athletes in the world, I'd stack an Olympic swimmer up against just about anybody.

Athletes ought to demonstrate some level of coordination, not just that they can out-exercise people.

If anything, American football players don't require coordination except at the position of receiver. Other than that it's fat guys protecting an arm and other fat guys trying to give the head of the arm a concussion.
