French Open doubles player Miyu Kato of Japan disqualified for accidentally hitting a ball girl. Isn't a ball boy/girl always at risk of getting hit by a tennis ball at these gran slam tennis tournaments? Like isn't that there whole job to catch errant tennis balls?

In the second set on Court 14 at Roland Garros, Kato took a swing with her racket and the ball flew toward the ball kid, who was not looking in the player’s direction while heading off the court.

At first, chair umpire Alexandre Juge only issued a warning to Kato. But after tournament referee Remy Azemar and Grand Slam supervisor Wayne McEwen went to Court 14 to look into what happened, Kato and her partner, Aldila Sutjiadi of Indonesia, were disqualified.

1 - the umpire who disqualified the 2 women's doubles players for innocent hit on a ball girl.
2 - The over dramatic ball girl crying for 15 minutes like she got hit with a baseball at 90 miles an hour when in reality it was a tennis ball lobbed in her direction that accidently hit her at slow speed.

I wasn't really sure what "accidentally" meant in this context. That video makes it hard to see what actually happened. Did the player just randomly whack a ball out of frustration after losing a point? If that's the case, I have no problem with the disqualification.

Tennis has always bothered me because its such an elitist sport. I realize golf is also perceived as elitist, but at least with golf, its acceptable to smoke a cigar and drink a beer while I play. Unless Agassi or McEnroe are playing, you can keep it.
