about to be replaced by AI. They are striking to show the industry how useless they really are. Can you be any dumber? oh and the actors are joining them! it's going to be so hard to find other hot people that can't act!

Tom Hanks, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise gonna be on the picket line? Marching with signs?

I'm laughing but I could see Hanks doing it just for show. He'll think it would be a good look. Like he really cares and shit. But he'll just look like a douche.

There are thousands of actors who legit need more money, obviously. Streaming money and AI are the big issues.

Why do you so called republicans want to artificially prop the economy? You play this hard line right winger line and then question when someone stands against socialists?

Ai is here. If we don't use it, China will. These actors should be learning how to do prompt engineering instead of trying to make laws that funnel cash into their pockets.

replace a disney/marvel movie script with AI, i think it'd be pretty seamless these days.

A good writer is invaluable. Same with actors. You can see the difference between the good and the shit. Unfortunately, most of the movies and tv don't require anything but shit.

AI in tvs and movies is just the next evolution in CGI. They aren't wrong to be fearful of it but there are also so many workarounds that can be done that any victory won't really be all that useful. It's completely wrong that the studios want to be able to create an AI model of a person and use it forever simply for them being an extra. They'll just create a person from scratch and do the same thing though. Now, I don't think we'll ever see a made up person become the next major movie star as it seems to be a concept that just doesn't fit with the psychology of humans and our desire to have favorite people that go from movie to movie. There is a reason that Clint Eastwood could sell a new movie simply by being in it.

The big fight will be the court battles about AI training. It's already begun. Should AI be able to learn everything about an actor and replicate it as their own creation with their own small changes? That's how most humans who have created content have done it. AI is just 1000x better at it than a human is because they can process more information even with far less creativity. Should an AI be able to digest the complete works of Tolkien, George RR Martin, and JK Rowling and create a show that combines those in 15,000 different ways until it creates a quality story that you then hire a writer to change some of the rough edges? Do those three deserve writing credits for it? Did Tolkien get credits for the other works that were inspired in large part by him?

That's my point brick. These people should be embracing ai and using it to help them make more money. No, they won't make as much per show. But they can use it to make more shows. Better shows.

Like any advancement in technology, the end result is the consumer gets more for their money. Businesses make less per unit, but there's more units.

Trying to make laws to stop it is like saying we need to save the coal mining industry.

Most CGI sucks compared to practical effects, AI stuff will be the same. Hopefully the public will support what makes tv and movies better, but odds are they won’t.

I think you're missing the point of AI creating anything we can imagine. AI making the impossible, possible. Imagine a league where AI MJ can play against AI Lebron. AI Mantle, Ruth, Bonds, W.Mays, Ichiro vs Ohtani. Brady vs Montana.

Your stars never get hurt, never age unless they are programmed to like Madden or NBA2K. Wouldn't have to worry about players safety or contract issues. NFL could be like battle bots. Just roll out the copy of AI Brady after a sack that takes off his head. Like they roll out a new football between plays.

Movie AI could bring back Stallone in his prime, Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker, Clint Eastwood, John Wayne to make NEW movies!

Tupac and Elvis could put out a song together. Hendrix could Jam with Eddie Van Halen!
