Covid is primarily an upper respiratory infection. At this point, it's virtually identical to influenza. Yes, you can get more severe illness if you're older and/or have underlying issues. Everyone else has moved on and understand that you're going to have to live with it, and probably getting sick once a year from here on out. There don't need to be any annoucements other than I'm sick and will be back when I'm better.
