Nah that had little to do with it. Jordan and Backstabbing Phil let it be known that they didn't mess with the guy through favorable media outlets and everyone else followed suit.

I don't know what his views are regarding Phil Jackson. But I have spoken MANY times about how he snaked Doug Collins for the gig.

Krause had a chance to prove them all wrong.

Elton Brand was fine. But then Krause decided to turn Brand into Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry.

Chandler wasn't even that bad, but Curry, ugh.

Also, if you're gonna honor Rodman, shouldn't Horace be in too? One of the great memories in Bulls history:

I loved Horace. Thought he was better than Scottie for a time in my yout.

He was a fucking idiot when the Magic beat the Bulls. Maybe he gets in next time.

What made it worse was Chandler found himself only after the bulls traded him. And that dumbass paxson moved him for a older, shorter version of Chandler (Ben Wallace). The Bulls greatest need at the time was offense, which is Wallace's greatest weakness. Great trade.

You're on to something here. I bet Reinsdorf has had a bug up his ass about Krause's treatment for the last four years and has been itching to do something about it and make everyone properly appreciate him. They knew fans would boo at the sight of him and had all the "shame on you, Thelma Krause is the most wonderful woman who ever lived (and Jerry was a talented GM)" stuff locked and loaded. On some level they had to know. It wasn't just about honoring Krause (he already has a pseudo-retired-number banner), it was about relitigating the Last Dance narrative yet again.

Anyone who has been a fan of the sox since Reinsdorf arrived understands that he takes a perverse pleasure in thumbing his nose at the fans.

I will never in my right mind believe that Jerry Krause "built the Bulls". However he still should not have been booed.

Jordan had a destiny, whether Krause was on this planet or not. Does it matter who the GM of the Mongol Horde was?

Yeah but Horace being an idiot in ways pushed Jordan to insane levels to prepare for the next run. 72-10 probably doesnt happen without Horace

They also had Jamal Crawford & Curry actually looked good offensively his 1st couple of years (led the league in fg% in his 2nd and avg'd 16 ppg in his 4th). I was actually excited about the possibilities early on. Then it became apparent that Curry would rather put more effort into eating than getting rebounds and playing defense.
