First, our bankrupt ass state has no business making a purchase like this.
Second, they want to see the goddamn naming rights. Are you freaking kidding me? NAMING RIGHTS? You're going to allow this to happen?

The name (which is already a corporate brand thank you) is as much a part of that park as the ivy is, as much as the drunken trixies are. This is another example of the money grabbing government that makes me sick.

The first thing I thought, too, was that the state doesn't have the money to buy the ballpark. However, I figured it would be a great investment, since the park brings in lots-o-monies every year.

I am against the state owning the ballpark, for the reasons that if I were an owner, I'd want to own the place my team played. If I bought the Cubs, but the Tribsters sold Wrigley to someone else, I'd move the damn team somewhere else. I'd build my own stadium elsewhere and that relic could crumble to the ground.

As for Jerry, I don't know what Mr. Lewis has to do with any of this, so I will answer no to your question.

You could change the name to "Thanks for your money Douchebags" Park at Wrigley Field and they would still get 3.1 million in the place. There is no way someone buys the team if they dont own the park and were forced to sign a 30 year lease.
