Was in Chicago this past weekend for a friend's wedding. I forgot how much I hate humidity. Unbearable. Gray skies suck too.

It's 104 right now in Tempe with 9% humidity. Feels fucking great.

First, I am not a bigfan of humidity. These last few days have not been big guy friendly weather. Second, I have never been to AIRIZONA????? I have, however, spent time in the mountains where the humidity is much, much lower.

That said, when the OP made his post it was 9pm (8pm in AZ?). It was still over 100 degrees. I can't imagine how 110 or 120+ in the blazing desert sun feels better than the mid-upper 80s with some humidity that we have had here recently.

I recall one August trip to AIRIZONA????? I had some free time in the afternoon so I went down to the pool and of course neglected to put on footwear. Two steps on the asphalt parking lot about melted my feet so I had to go back to the room for sandals. Going to bed at 10pm that night it was still 116F. So yes it is hot there.

Vegas heat never feels as bad as the number reads. Never been to AZ though.

I went to SIU and the move in days down there were the worst. It was always like 85 and 90% humidity. Quite a few of my extended family lived in St. Louis also, and that's no picnic.

How long are you actually outside in Vegas in the afternoon in summer?

Most of Arizona is awful. Phoenix in particular is one of my least favorite big cities to travel to.

We used to go there in July for a convention every year. Hit the pool in the morning and make sure you got a lounge chair in the shade. Walking the casinos in the afternoon actually emphasized the heat: A/C, 100 degrees,... repeat, repeat, repeat. Still it was Vegas so it’s definitely worth it if that’s your thing.

I’ve been to every major American city, and Phoenix is definitely one of my least favorites. Screw the dry heat. It’s a fucking oven for six months out of the year.

The high temperature doesn’t get to 110+ a whole lot. That’s a misconception.

It was around 7pm (2 hour time difference this time of year) when I made the post. I was in my backyard on the patio in the shade. Felt great. You breathe better. You’re not sticky and uncomfortable.

If you think April, May, and September in AZ feels like an oven I can’t help you.

Average high in September is 99. It is 95 in May. Way too hot for me. I could handle Oct through April.

Humidity is great. When I was riding my bike on Monday I was so loose I felt like I was 20 years old.

Some humidity is fine. Chicago can be bad in the dog days of summer without a close retreat to the AC. I will tell you though that when we got away from the ocean in SC a couple weeks ago and the comforting breeze it was unbearable. We went for a quick mini golf round after dinner and a couple drinks one evening. It was dark, after nine and I ended up sweat drenched as if I had just mowed the lawn or ran two miles.

gulf humidity has to be the worst. from houston to the panhandle, it's cut-the-air-with-a-knife weather. you get great seafood, but you make up for it in living in absolute hell.

dry heat is still unbearable if you spend enough time outside. you just feel worn out and weak after a while.

but worse than that is dry cold. winter in the desert is awful.

The thing about AZ heat is yeah dry but that feeling of having your nose hairs singe in the summer is quite a thing.

Nah, I travel to Phoenix at least 2 or 3 times per year. It’s just dull. Bad restaurants and nothing remarkable about it other than the fact that it’s usually sunny. Keep it.

80s and humid, like it has been this past week, do not bother me in the least. If fact I enjoy it. On the other hand mid or upper 90s -- keep it.

Getting older makes a day like yesterday in Orland where it was high 80s and humid fairly miserable. I couldn't wait to get back to the lakefront.

When I was golfing there in late June for the bachelor party, it sucked so much. The humidity was awful. Sticky and hard to breathe. You can golf comfortably during the summer in AZ as long you’re done by noon. But like denisdman mentioned, 95 is too hot for him. To me, that’s a great temperature as long as it’s dry! Chicago in the summertime is wonderful but I don’t like those days where it feels like someone dumped a bucket of water on me.
