The comment section there is awesome.

The best part is that it is linked to your facebook stuff so it is basically a bunch of whackos being told they are wrong by their normal friends.

Why don't you two deep thinkers read the study for yourself?

I did, and I know that antibiotics are over prescribed.

What does it have to do with this thread?

Now you need me to form your correlations for you as well?

Tell us what the study said and we can start there.

You bumped this thread to make a point. We'd all like to know what that point is.

I don't think you understand how this works. If you want to say something then you can just say it. You don't need someone else to do it for you.

it lays smoldering for weeks at a time then someone bumps it with some kind of news story
then the back and forth starts
-whats your point
-did you read the article
-answer the question
-[random non-sequitor]

repeat for 3-4 pages until someone goes to bed

we could use a Vaccine thread bingo board

Oh ok. So we agree on the overuse of antibiotics!

So, what does that have to do with this thread?

Sorry. I know it's totally unreasonable to ask what the article you posted in this thread to bump it has to do with the topic of the thread. How crazy of us.

Sorry, I know it's totally unreasonable to ask people to read the actual threads before they comment, but in your case, I know you will just post post because I did first.

Obviously not.

This current discussion was started in the first ten pages. The reason for it being a salient point can still be found there.

You are a father now. It's Ok to question doctor's when they make treatment recommendations for your child.

Don't thank me later. Just be open minded enough to do it. Oh, and don't expect them to like it either.

This thread is about vaccines. If you want to say that I have to go re-read 48 pages of an old thread to be able to say "And?" in follow-up to your drive-by link posting, you should probably re-think things. There's this tool called a quote function that helps other posters to know what you are posting in response to, and you also have the ability to type your own words after your link! Crazy!

I am aware that I am allowed to question doctors. That goes without saying, so I'm not sure why you are preaching about it. Despite what you seem to imply, you are not the first or the only person to ever question a doctor or health care professional. That doesn't mean that I would choose not to vaccinate my children when there are mountains of evidence that they should be vaccinated. Also, I'm well aware of the over-prescription of antibiotics and actually declined to give my daughter antibiotics a few months ago when they were offered. Antibiotics and vaccines are two completely separate issues, and the over-prescription of antibiotics doesn't mean that antibiotics are "bad." It means that we should stop prescribing them for the sniffles.

I'm not an anti-vaxxer, but I was convinced by doctors who insisted on the then "new" chicken pox vaccination for my eldest (who got it 3-4 months later). At the next check up for my sons, a doctor in the same office went the same path for my youngest, even fought hard for it and seemed to imply that it would be unfitness as a parent not to.

Even after I explained that the one for my oldest hadn't worked (she tried to explain that there were "issues" with the original vaccines that had been worked out 8) ), or that if she bothered to really read the file she would have seen that my youngest had already had chicken pox. That bitch still didn't give up her fight until I started with pointed language and a demand to speak directly with the managing physicians & my sons' regular doctor.

So now neither you or Brick read the read that explains the reason for the post? Keep telling us how open minded you are.

And by the way, no one said that antibiotics are bad. Or is something or someone being bad just a "go to" position for how you try and understand the world.
