Turns out there was a little surprise for online sellers in a 591 page "rescue" bill.

Starting next year, the federal threshold for issuing the 1099-K will drop to $600 with no minimum transaction level, due to a provision in the recently enacted American Rescue Plan Act.

Well there’s a theory out there that nobody would govern like the Biden admin if they were worried about losing a free & fair election, but I’ll leave that one alone for now.

Probably because it’s the time of year when businesses have to start issuing 1099s.
