Either you deal picks or you draft for someone else and deal those players. If you draft for yourself then you're basically locked in. I'm all for depth but I was hoping for some increased star power. Yes the Spurs won with depth and all, but there is no Leonard or even Diaw here.

Is there one on the board? For the Spurs post-Duncan as superstar model you need to hit on almost all of your acquisitions. Simply put it's just easier to climb up the standings on the shoulders of star players. If Leanard is there, fine, but there's no guarantee obviously when you're picking in the teens.
