Early favorite for douchebag of the year.

He overplayed his hand and went from head coach to OL coach...and he only has that position until a guy getting treatment for cancer returns.

Bravo Doug, that is a fairly difficult career suicide.

I get what you're saying, but he got $4 million to opt out. And he got into it with management in September. Things must not have been great for him to want out.

You can't make a decision like that unless you know that you have another job lined up.

It was the new ownership group, I believe.

I wouldn't take a $4M lump sum over the opportunity to make even more than that as a head coach for years to come.

Just be glad that he isn't in Chicago.

no, he's crying all the way to be a low end assistant coach on a losing team on a short term deal

The market clearly rejected Doug Marrone and he will have to go back to college to resuscitate a head coaching career.

Pretty obvious the league knew that Kyle Orton was behind all of his success.

It would be a nice ending if Peyton retired so he and Orton could go into The Hall together

Did Peyton Manning end his career beating Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady over a three week period?

Dude, he's already made more money than I will in my lifetime. I'm not going to judge his business acumen.

I think people like us are self employed for a reason. And one of the main reasons for me was the ability to choose who I do business with.

Marrone didn't like the new ownership group and moved on. And got paid $4M to do so because he or his agent had the foresight to put that into his contract. If he doesn't have a job in five years as a Head Coach, then the whispers about him being a douchebag were probably true.
