I don't really see anything that the player did that was that bad. Stallings completely over reacted and said some really dumb stuff.......all based on some Tennessee asst coach being a bitch and trying to rat the player out (for basically nothing) in the handshake line.

"I WILL KILL YOU!!!"

Stallings could have just said something like "thanks coach, I will address it with my player" and that would have been the end of it.
Stupid all around.

Definite lapse in judgment but a really good basketball coach. He was the coach at Illinois State when I was at school there. Pretty much the

He lost it, immediately regretted and has moved to make amends.

The original incident is bad but I still think he comes out setting a good example.

He screamed "I'll f*n kill you" to a player because another coach lied and said the player did something that he didn't do?

Hardly a "non story".

He stood and clapped? The Tennessee player was moving toward him, Baldwin wasn't really even moving.

The Tennessee asst coach should be really embarrassed that he got his feelings hurt over a player on another team clapping after a victory.

I'm not saying Stallings should be punished, he should be embarrassed as well.

Did that look excessive to you? I kinda think it looks like something that happens dozens of times every single game.
Why did the UT coach feel the need to point that out? (I did not watch the game, just saw the highlight)
I watched it again. There is another Vandy player doing the exact same thing at the same time down near the baseline. Standing, clapping, then getting in line.

I just thought he did at him and said something. It probably is nothing and if I was the coach of UT I would probably tell the assistant that you need to talk to me 1st before you say anything. The whole thing to me is a bunch of nothing.

Stallings could have handled it 5 different ways that would have been better than what he did.


"Thanks, coach! I will take care of it!" and move on......The way he reacted you would think his team just lost by 20, not won.

He is a hard ass, has always been one and yes he could have handled it better. I am surprised he has stayed at Vandy as long as he has, he is a damn good coach.

However, if the coach thought it was something that should be addressed it should have been handled in private.
