15 min waiting in the checkout line.

some dumb bitch in front of me was complaining she couldnt get the 11% sale on her $60 weed whacker with the 11% store wide rebate on top

i already pulled everything out of my basket and onto the conveyor belt because im trying to get through as fast as possible

overhead light flicks on, and no manager shows up for 15 min.

if menards wasnt the only place around... i swear to god... this would never happen at madison's home depot. every time i go to menards i just get a shitty feeling in my stomach because i know its such a shitty company. fuck menards

No you do not.

I spoke directly a couple of years ago with the WI DNR official mentioned on Wiki. There is more than that.

I generally try to avoid home improvement stores on Saturdays but had to make a stop this morning at the Long Grove Mendards. Got in and out of there in under 10 minutes with no problem.

But I had no clue the boss was so deranged.

Yep. That's enough for me. I'll make the extra drive and hit the local Ace.

I know two people that he put out of business by fighting or refusing to pay legitimate bills.

Told the one guy, " Take half or I'll just fight you in court. I've got a room full of attorney's here on staff that can keep you in court for the next five or six years."

Stiffed the guy for close to $750K.

I’ve always thought of Menards’ store-wide 11% rebate promotion as a bit of a gimmick. They make you “jump through hoops” and wait up to 8 weeks in order to receive your discount in the form of a merchandise credit check.

all mail in rebates are gimmicks. but some companies honor them better than others. if it's discount tire, hell yeah ill do their mail in rebate. if its newegg.com, fuck no. and if its menards, i laugh when they offer it to me.

Menards: The Staff usually can answer a question accurately if I have one and other than that they leave me the fuck alone. They have probably the most extensive list of products and tools. They also have ample space to maneuver a larger item cart.

Home Depot: Apparently they hire every dickbag old man wannabe handy man that doesn't know a god damn thing about anything remotely related to construction but they sure know how to badger the crap out of you. You can barely fit a cart down their isles between the 400 lb customers and displays they put front and center in the main isle. Their trim section is also pretty damn annoying with everything coming in 16 ft lengths and a you cut it station.....followed by measuring every damn board again at the checkout.

Lowes: Generally decent. If I don't need something specific from Menards stock I will go to Lowes.

Instead of laughing at Menards please just save your receipts. I will gladly take them off your hands and collect the rebates. I find their process completely painless. I just did one for my purchase today. It took 15 seconds to fill the form and print it, at http://www.menards.com/main/rebates.html

The Randall Rd Menards is one of the best. I have a buddy from HS who works the electrical dept and has since HS and knows that section like the back of his hand. Excellent help there and no one bothers me. The Lowes in the commons is one of the worst I have been to....the home depot is as awful as any other.

Hell yes it is. Pete is pretty much the perfect worker for that store.

The fact that you know his name speaks volumes about his customer service. I see him in all corners of the store even though he is usually based in electrical and he knows that inventory like no one else. He doesn't redirect you to someone else if you need something outside of electrical...he takes you there.
