Why would you do this? Is your goal to cause on accident on Harlem Avenue at 7:30 in the morning?

People have zero knowledge of what the left lane is for.

those damn speed cameras have really messed things up. I set the cruise at 30mph all through the city.

Another thing that pisses me off driving-wise:

People turning left or right onto a 2 lane one directional road. You turn into the lane NEAREST you.

Agree, but that is not always the case in the city. Yesterday about 10am, I was getting off of the inbound Ike at Harlem heading north. Its a left exit, and you make a left at the top of the ramp. Green arrow for us was simultaneous with a right arrow for those exiting outbound off the Ike also going north onto Harlem. I imagine there are accidents all the time at that intersection.

The worst is when some ppl drive 15-25 on 40+mph 90%+ cleared roads during snowy conditions and they think driving so slow is going to save the world by showing us the way.... Instead they end up causing ppl, especially the 4WD superheroes, to come up and fly around the slowpokes, which ironically creates note dangerous situations.

Seriously fuck those dumbasses up their stupid fucking asses.

SIGNED,

A 4WD SUPERHERO

My pet peeve this week is that is seems that I have a sign in front of my car that reads turn in front of me (right on red or out of a lot etc) as I am driving 45mph.

I'm on the road daily for my job and the shit that drivers pull is amazing.

these threads will never get old. i drive all over the place and i have grown to be the most reluctant parking lot driver to the point that i drive into a parking lot with the feeling of dread one feels when diving into the ocean in shark infested waters. so many lots are poorly designed and cramped that they're almost begging for an accident or fender bender of some kind. i have a few dings on my car that i'm positive came from the local jewel i shop at. that has to be the worst designed parking lot i've ever seen. i've literally seen people hit each other, backing into each other, on more than 3 occasions in less than a year's time.

This one is a major issue.

Especially at busy intersections.

Yes, the Glen Ellyn Jewel's lot is terrible. But fortunately I run through there at 7 AM so I don't have to deal with the traffic.

People who seemingly refuse to use the equipment that comes standard on most vehicles.

a) Turn signals
b) Cruise control

There is no extra charge for using this equipment.

Parking lots I see what you guys mean but I simply avoid the mayhem by parking away from the other cars. A bit more of a walk but it still usually ends up being quicker because you don't have to stop to allow all the foot and vehicle traffic to pass as you are trying to find a spot, pull in or back out. Instead it's easy in, easy out.

I've noticed a bunch of hybrid and full-electric cars putting along at 55-60 on 70mph interstates in the left lane. I finally realized that these people are obsessed with their real-time MPG gauge... fucking strokes.

The folks that use this religiously are the folks that get into accidents.

It makes you a lazy driver. You pay attention to less.

Seconded.

I rode down to FL last year with a buddy and he seemed shocked that I set the cruise on the interstate.

Use the cruise on a weekly basis. My last wreck was 1985.

I don't find IMU's statement to be true. If your focus lags simply due to not having to modulate a gas pedal, their are other issues in play. CC can actually allow one to focus on other aspects of the road (side and rearview, mentally keeping track of what other vehicles are doing in adjacent lanes)

i do this at most parking lots, especially the gym, but it's pretty impossible at the grocery store. the lot is too packed in and there isn't a place you can park away from people unless you want to park almost a block away...and if you wanna drag a shopping cart all that way, be my guest. i'm just super extra careful and slow...and even i've had a few close calls.

You know what I hate? Those idiots that follow you out of the mall, driving at walking speed and look for 20 minutes for that super close spot so they can go walk around the mall for 4 hours.
