Underworld Material Issue a 3 man band? Blake Babies Flaming Lips circa late 90's/early 2000's -- When Drozd was still on the horse and they'd project him playing drums behind the band while he played guitar and synths live. Wasn't Wilco briefly a 3 piece, right after kicking Jay out of the band. Leroy Bach toured with them but was never officially in the band, iirc. Same thing with Uncle Tupelo Three Chairs is an obvious one, but that's House and 3 people seems excessive. Probably why the trio Sub Sub stopped being "dance act' Sub Sub and started cranking out arena-rockish tunes as The Doves. Arab Strap toured as a 3 piece. Dunno who was actually in the band tho. James McMurtry's live act is usually 3 piece, tho occasionally their touring sound guy picks up a guitar. Handsome Family were better as a 3 piece/when they had an actual drummer. |
