The Beautiful Struggle seemed like an experimental album more than anything. There were a couple of okay songs but you're right - it wasn't that good.

Talib's best work is on the underground circuit and on his mixtapes. I'm a big fan and lyrically Talib's still the best in the Hip Hop game in my opinion. I'm grabbing this one.

The production is great. I like how it's spread out. I mean I love Hi-Tek too but you get 1 from Hi-Tek, 3 from Madlib, 1 from Kanye (and it's awesome), 2 from Pete Rock, 2 from Will.I.Am..point is it's very diverse and doesn't get bogged down in one style

I like that lineup. I think Kanye steps up his production game when he's working with real MCs like Talib or Common. Pete Rock is still very underrated as a producer too.

Really? I think Pete Rock is known as one of the greatest producers of all time.

I agree. But usually when I talk to people about Hip Hop producers and DJs, I hear the names of Dr. Dre, Diddy, Muggs, DJ Quik, Alchemist, etc., but Pete Rock usually doesn't get a mention. We need to have a Pete Rock appreciation day in Hip Hop.

Aesop Rock's new release, None Shall Pass, is excellent.

I think Justin Timberlake is one of the most influential hip hop artists in the past 30 years.

I can't stop listening to the new Talib album. It's one of the best overall I've heard in the last few years. Makes up for my disappointment in the new Common disk.

How does the new Common CD compare to "Be" from 2005?

Your narrowmindedness will be cured if you purchase the most recent album by one Kevin Federline.

Not even close to Be. I'd give Be an 8.5 out of 10 and Finding Forever about a 4 and that's even being a big generous. Kweli's new one blows both out of the water IMO though.

Nope. Never even heard of any of those guys. What kind of hip hop is it? Is it like Antipop Consortium or Sage Francis?

Thanks Baku. Meanwhile, if you were ever a Royce 5'9" fan, you need to get his new album:

Some of his best work since his Eminem days.

Royce is probably the only guy good enough to outshine Eminem on a track. You need to find the original version of the song Renegade - the one with Royce 5'9" instead of Jay-Z. Royce's verses on that song were 100 times better than Jay's - and I love Jay-Z.

Just got all of these. I'm surprised with the Little Brother. Minus 9th Wonder (except for one song) and only 11 songs, but it's tight- no filler.

Blu & Exile is awesome. Could be my album of the year. Great lyrics and production

9th Wonder is pretty good, a little disappointed so far but I'll give it more time to sink it. Haven't listened to too much of the Marco Polo yet
