that was not a headlining show. They were opening up for someone even less well known, but opening up nonetheless.

Literally noone knew Head and the Heart were in town for that.

Find me a headlining show smartass.

Either way, I wanna know where he saw them 3 times.

No.
You said, "they never play Chicago"

There have been 15 opportunities to see The Head And The Heart perform their music in the state of Illinois since 2011.

The biggest live band in the world, U2, have played popular music concerts in the city of Chicago only 10 times in that same span of time.

Your premise is flawed, and you are not a very dedicated fan of THATH if you couldn't find it in your heart to attend one of their shows/.

I have seen them all three times in Milwaukee. Once at Turner Hall, once at Summerfest and once at the Riverside. I've had opportunities to see
them in Chicago a few times. Shirtless provided numerous dates when they were in the Chicago area. They swing through at least once a year
since I have been following them in 2011. I am not a fan of Chicago Theater personally, although I have only been to one or two shows there. I
don't like seeing shows at those theaters that are seemingly built more vertical than horizontal. I haven't been to a show of theirs in a number of
years now but just know they put on an excellent show if you are into their music.

Another BIG Ike Reilly Assassination show Saturday night in Libertyville.

Quote:
Saturday night is right around the corner. It's gonna be stupendous! Jon Langford from the Mekons and The Waco Brothers will sing & play and display his art. Having Jon Langford at Diamond City is really an honor. He will have prints for sale as well. Before Jon does his thing Kid Mayhem featuring Chris Stolte and Miranda Mayo from NBC's Chicago Fire will regale us with some wonderful song & dance and slight of hand. She's beautiful and he's gorgeous...gorgeous in a burnt-up-in-a-fire kinda way.

After all that my band The Ike Reilly Assassination will rip through songs from most of our 8 records! We will lean heavily into our latest record CROOKED LOVE.

Probably should just start a 2019 concerts thread but just dropping this out there for anyone who enjoys the music of Beirut. They don't go on
tour very often and when they do, often play overseas. They are dropping an album in February and have only 13 U.S. dates. One in Milwaukee
at the Pabst and one in Chicago at the Riv. Presale on Wednesday for Milwaukee and I would presume regular sales will happen on Friday.

Did they play "Winter Song" on any of the occasions you saw them? While I'm not a huge fan of theirs, I love that tune, particularly the female vocals.

The Ike Reilly show was pretty spectacular as usual.

Miranda Rae Mayo, from Chicago Fire is adorable and has a really nice singing voice. She was accompanied by Christian Stolte on acoustic guitar and another guy on mandolin and violin. They were waaaay better than I expected. They played four songs. This was plenty considering there was another opening act.

John Langford was joined by John Szymanski and played a rousing acoustic set of old and new country punk as only a man born and bred in Leeds England could do.

Ike and the Assassination were excellent as always.

I even chit chatted and got a photo with Neal Cotts. I know, weird, right?

I believe that they have played it on each occasion. Charity has a very unique voice and is quite quirky on stage. I am not sure if she is just really
into the music or what but she has some strange quirks and twitches up there. She's gained quite a bit of weight over the years and not sure if that
has affected her voice at all. The band has a few members on hiatus as well, but they have been able to patch the holes well. I feel they really
miss Josiah Johnson as the 2nd male vocal and one of the song writers. He has been recovering from drug addiction for a few years now. They have
become a bit more "poppy" than I care for, but still enjoy their live shows. They always go back to the well and play quite a few from their debut album.
If you ever get the chance to see them I would recommend it TM.

So that was a hell of an evening! All three bands rocked!

Touched By Ghoul: Never heard of them. They rocked a short set.

Detroit Cobras: Total hot mess onstage. Barely held it together and rocked.

MC5: Absolute force of nature. It was almost like seeing The WHO or ACDC at the Metro. Loud as fuck for about two solid hours. Original member Wayne Cramer accompanied by Soundgarden lead guitarist Kim Thayil, Faith No More bassist, Fugazi Drummer and some singer who looked like the perfect cross between Howard Stern and Slash.

I also managed to see MANY people I know, not the least of whom was JORR. Saw an ex's ex husband and his crew of band mates. My wife goes to the bathroom and comes back with a dude dressed up as Gene Simmons' onstage persona...i think he's the booking agent for Liar's Club.

Wife was at the pre-show meet and greet, but wanted a better pic with Wayne. So, we end up Backstage hanging out with all the bands. We run into Johns Langford and Szymanski, who I just saw play Saturday night. They're wondering who the fuck I am now.

We only got out of there after the lead singer of Detroit Cobras tried to make out with the wife. I think the wife may be a little bruised up after the encounter...not that she wasn't pretty thrilled anyway.

Completed the evening with an ill advised run over to White Castle on Addison. This post is being typed from the throne.

Not going but I got an e-mail this week from them about a Red Rocks show in July that coincides with anniversary of my brothers death. My wife and I have
never traveled to Colorado and always wanted to see a show at that venue so we may take the plunge. Sounds like more fun than a show at
the Chicago Theater.

I want to but we have a Plaid Party to attend. I was thinking of sneaking up to Milwaukee tonight. Probably won't be able to do that either. Should be a fun show. Neal Cotts will probably be there again Friday.
