Saturday night is right around the corner. It's gonna be stupendous! Jon Langford from the Mekons and The Waco Brothers will sing & play and display his art. Having Jon Langford at Diamond City is really an honor. He will have prints for sale as well. Before Jon does his thing Kid Mayhem featuring Chris Stolte and Miranda Mayo from NBC's Chicago Fire will regale us with some wonderful song & dance and slight of hand. She's beautiful and he's gorgeous...gorgeous in a burnt-up-in-a-fire kinda way.

After all that my band The Ike Reilly Assassination will rip through songs from most of our 8 records! We will lean heavily into our latest record CROOKED LOVE.

I have seen them all three times in Milwaukee. Once at Turner Hall, once at Summerfest and once at the Riverside. I've had opportunities to see
them in Chicago a few times. Shirtless provided numerous dates when they were in the Chicago area. They swing through at least once a year
since I have been following them in 2011. I am not a fan of Chicago Theater personally, although I have only been to one or two shows there. I
don't like seeing shows at those theaters that are seemingly built more vertical than horizontal. I haven't been to a show of theirs in a number of
years now but just know they put on an excellent show if you are into their music.

Did they play "Winter Song" on any of the occasions you saw them? While I'm not a huge fan of theirs, I love that tune, particularly the female vocals.

I believe that they have played it on each occasion. Charity has a very unique voice and is quite quirky on stage. I am not sure if she is just really
into the music or what but she has some strange quirks and twitches up there. She's gained quite a bit of weight over the years and not sure if that
has affected her voice at all. The band has a few members on hiatus as well, but they have been able to patch the holes well. I feel they really
miss Josiah Johnson as the 2nd male vocal and one of the song writers. He has been recovering from drug addiction for a few years now. They have
become a bit more "poppy" than I care for, but still enjoy their live shows. They always go back to the well and play quite a few from their debut album.
If you ever get the chance to see them I would recommend it TM.

T-bone, go see my buddy Ike Reilly tonight at Shank Hall. He's touring with Johnny Hickman from Cracker. Should be pretty cool.

I don't doubt it but I can't go tonight. Never seen a show at Shank Hall either.
