"Do Me" by BBD. Specifically the lines "Backstage, underage, adolescent". Michael Bivins said the rap was ghost written by Busta Rhymes. |

I would suspect that, at least in its time, "Take a Walk On the Wild Side" might well have been seen as questionable. All-time groove irrespective of genre. Too bad there's not some lost 10-minute version of it out there. |

"Baby One More Time", about a desperate, lonely woman who is not only willing, but dying to get back into an abusive relationship because she doesn't want to be lonely anymore. extremely dark and sardonic. |

How about Elton John? Some of his songs are gay themed and fairly unsavory at that. Goodbye yellow brick road reads as the struggles of a young guy lured from the small town to be the boy toy of a rich man. "You know you can't hold me forever I didn't sign up with you I'm not a present for your friends to open This boy's too young to be singing the blues" "Maybe you'll get a replacement There's plenty like me to be found Mongrels who ain't got a penny Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground" "You can't plant me in your penthouse I'm going back to my plough" And then there's "I'm a rocket man". Hmmm... But nothing is more unsavory than the Pete Townshend single "Rough Boys"... "Rough boys Don't walk away I very nearly missed you Tough boys Come over here I wanna bite and kiss you" |

He said: "What made me write it? At that point I was just grabbing onto things that popped up in my head and taking characters and singing from their point of view. So whether it be the right wing guy talking about capitalism or the feisty little girl or quasi molester - these were just things that I thought were funny or interesting and I would just kind of jump into the skin of. Often things I wrote were motivated by nothing but the newspaper. I’d read an article and be thinking about something and write a song from that perspective. So it didn’t necessarily reflect me…but it was just fun and I knew it was irreverent. I was out to offend everybody when I started out. Any subject matter I could find that would be offensive I was embracing, so that was just one." |
