Ended up at a operation support the troops festival and the wife and I got our way to the front for Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tuesday's Gone is still their best song IMHO.

Saw Roger Waters at the UC last night and it did not disappoint. The highlights were the second set featuring songs from Animals as well as Comfortably Numb in the encore.

One thing I noticed on the way into the arena was a big sign for vacation packages by "SQN Escapes". Is SQN Escapes related to Senor's wife's SQN Events?

Saw Jim McCarty of the Yardbirds tonight.

Awesome show. It was his 74th birthday today. The guy who owns one of the record stores in town has been a big supporter of Jim's solo stuff. He played with a bunch of great local musicians. Stuck around and signed stuff and talked to everyone. Our kids guitar teacher played tonight and toured England with him last year. Just a very cool night.

Saw Spoon on Sunday night.

Great show. 25 bucks/ticket and 2 dollar drafts also helped. Kind of bummed the crowd wasn't bigger.

Downstairs in the Chase Lounge, waiting for the Pixies.

The show was decent...almost zero interaction with the crowd...they just played one song after the other. It finished fairly strong. They teased playing Hear Comes Your Man, twice...then didn't play it.

Pre-sale tickets available tomorrow for special Bon Iver show Feb in Milwaukee at the Bradley Center. I'll definitely be trying to score a pair of tix for that.

No Detroit date? Usually goth/industrial bands do well in Detroit. Recall Peter Murphy solo a few years back played a sold out ~2,000 capacity Royal Oak Music theater one night, and then played Reggie's in the South Loop the next.

Saw his solo show last night. I've never seen him before but he can really play! Didn't know most of the songs but it was still entertaining. My wife was pretty happy with the setlist.

His opener though? Helen Money...Rock Cellist. That was a thing. I've never heard those sounds come out of a cello before.
