I might show up for Saturday.

Is Cherry Glazerr a big band now, Bagels? One of the girls in that band is the daughter of an Evanston girl who is several years younger than I am. The mom's name is Caitlin O'Connor Creevy. She's pretty brilliant herself. She wrote movie reviews for the Tribune when she was in high school. And yes, RR, I am feeling my age right now.

Why is Pitchfork so obsessed with Beyonce's sister?

I don't know but A Seat At The Table is more important than anything Beyonce has ever done. It's like a Millennial female version of It Takes A Nation of Millions To Hold Us Back.

It's just weird to see the site once associated with authorial authenticity fawn over a record that took a million producers to make.

Well, I don't really know much about Solange's complete body of work, but I would say that A Seat At The Table is her singular vision, a manifesto from an empowered young black woman in 21st Century America. The production is simply a matter of style. This is a "punk rock" record in attitude which is what really counts.

I get kind of a Nina Simone vibe from her.

At this point they've been associated with authenticity for a very small fraction of their existence.
