As a 15 year old Floyd was on constant rotation. This would have been mate 80's. My daughter cringes when I play that music now. She's 14. Although I did get her to like Zeppelin.

I'm one of those damn gen xers. My folks were born in 41 so they are not boomers but I found it funny growing up I was trapped in my Dad's car listening to magic 104 for years and years. About the mid 90's my dad discovered 105.9 and started listening to classic Rock. They had records from Beatles and stones and such but I'm guessing they were my moms.

Oddly enough, I actually enjoy that late 50's early 60s music now. Rarely listen to it but it is nostalgia I believe. My daughter does not appreciate me singing the Wanderer however.

Yes, but for all the mocking Tributosaurus gets here, that "modern" swing was really worse. Guys dressing up in old suits and playing grandpa's music. There's nothing genuine about it. The best thing I can say about it is it got a lot of cute girls in tight dresses and heels twirling on the dance floor.

There's a lot of parallels between the Gen-Xers and that postwar generation that doesn't really have a name. They're both small generations and wear their disaffection on their sleeves.

Silent generation (just before--my parents were born in '35, and are Silent generationers)

Generations are weird though. I mean obviously people born in 41 have more in common with boomers than they do with people born in 24 or whenever the greatest generation petered out and transitioned to silent generation. I remember sitting in Moskosos intro to Soc class and going over Gen X and being "Likd this is total bullshit" which probably means his definition hit home in fine way. It's been 23 years or so which might explain my foggy memory. All I know is I don't like being told what to do or how I think.
