How bad is the Tribune for quoting them in a headline the other day? Painful stuff.

This list should be the top 5 privileged white make vocalists ever. Throwing in a gay and a half Mexican changes nothing.

Steve Walsh from Kansas had a phenomenal voice.

Throw in the keyboard playing and the tube socks and you have the complete package.

The Donald and Ian Anderson are my favorite "bad voice" guys.

Mark Farner had a terrific voice back in the day.

I have. That's a demonstrably terrible opinion. I'm quite certain few if any professional singers or musicians would agree with that thought.

To that end, Chris Cornell wouldn't even come up in conversation if he hadn't just snuffed it.

I'd also put Steve Marriott on the list.

Not that bad. He seems worse than he is because he has an unpolished voice against one of the most polished studio acts ever. But that turns out to be necessary for Steely Dan. If they even farmed out the vocals to pros, they'd have no soul at all.

Best "bad voice" guy is Leon Russell.
Best vocalists are Bob Seger, Steve Perry, Paul Rodgers.
Holy shit! Did I just agree with Franky Flapjacks on Rodgers?

Talk about demonstrably terrible opinions.
You obviously know fuck all about Soundgarden and/or Chris Cornell,
so why don't you go back to rubbing one out while you try to transcribe
the Bodhisattva chart into C Minor.

What type of rock are we talking about? That in of itself defines the list.
For me just plain ole rock goes:
1-Mercury. Hands down. Anyone who does not acknowledge him n their list has no idea what singing is and can do t the human soul. Go listen to To Much Love Can Kill You and Show Must go on. Both where recorded in the last months of his life and tell me you can not hear the emotion in the performances

2-Daulty-There is a reason the use those Who songs for all those shows. The Who may not have been the best musicians in the world but the had one thing down pat, emotion. Hell, to me they are the first punk band. Daultry gets a lot of crap, some deserved, because as he got older his voice did not hold up well but there are tracks outthere of him preforming with Pavroti and other Opera singers . Man has talent.

3-Cornell-want proof. Listen to Temple of the Dog. Dude makes Vedder look like an Amateur and that is no easy feat. Listen to any of the catalog of any band he played in and one thing you come away with is the power in the voice, plus you how you can tell he was good? They had him do a 007 song and it did not suck.

4-Elvis-If you have not listened to him. Sorry but the man could sign his ass off. Not just Rock either. Country and Gospel. I grew up listening to him,I learned from an early age how good he was . His music still to me holds up.

5-Bono-Like the Edge his voice is distinctive. You know it is him from the first note. If he would give up being a fucking preacher on stage and just do his fucking job I would have no problem with him. But the more preachy he got,Starting with Joshua Tree on, the worse the actual music got. His voice is still strong and that is not the problem.
