How can a person not like The Stones, Michael and Petty?!? That is crazy talk.

You'd give rpb a good run for worst musical taste on this board, SMH.

I don't know how someone can dislike all three at the same time, but a lot of Stones songs are just generic plinks and yelps to me, like "Street Fighting Man" or "Brown Sugar," songs I never have to hear again. I can understand if people feel that way. Oh, and "Iiiieen J" would be my most hated Stones song if not for the children's choir on "You Can't Always Get What You Want." And Exile on Main Street might be the canonical rock album I care for the least, that and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea.

I understand why it is the way it is, but I feel like the Beatles-Stones Great Debate isn't quite right. If anything, given the Stones' arguable prime was the run from Beggars Banquet in '68 to Some Girls in '78, their truest contemporaries (and blues-stealing partners in crime) are Led Zeppelin, and I'll take Led Zeppelin over the Stones as thoroughly and emphatically as anyone can.

Decent analysis. Haven't thought of the Stones vs. Zep angle but you are right.

Blank Space by Taylor Swift

It's on my daughter's iphone. It is one of the five songs on it I tolerate.

Closer by Chainsmokers.
This one I have no excuse for.

The other day "Let It Bleed" came on the radio and my wife asked me why he was singing like he was from Texas.

this seems more along the lines of the spirit of the thread.

FS mentioned Creed. i'll give one for Nickelback..."Animals". That song is pretty fucking hilarious. and it has a good riff.

Linkin Park. "Shadow of the Day".

and this one...i don't get, but it always gets stuck in my head and i don't mind: "ride" by 21 pilots.

I forgot I had that on vinyl.
It's actually a kinda decent album.
Heat Of The Moment and OTWT being the best songs.

I was in college when that came out. I remember one of my friends claiming that Asia and Rainbow would keep classic rock alive.

Edit: I should note that Bowie and Springsteen had both lost cred around that time with “Let’s Dance” and “Dancing in the Dark” respectively.
