I never listened to a lot of Johnny Cash until recently, but I think he was great. So before people tear down those Robert E. Lee monuments, give a listen to "God Bless Robert E. Lee".

A lot of Dylan-hating dumbasses in this thread. I can't think of a more important figure in popular American music than Bob Dylan. My wife always complains about his voice which entirely misses the point. It's about his voice, not his voice.

Not hating JORR. Aren't we all entitled to like what we like? I do like some of his songs, it's just that I think that his contribution to music is given too much weight. And I forgot to mention "Mr. Tambourine Man" as another good one, but I prefer the Byrds version. "Like A Rolling Stone" is one of the best songs of all time. I still remember when he played it on Letterman. I thought it was phenomenal.

There isn't one. We're nowhere without Bob Dylan.

Chuck Berry.

I'd argue Prince and David Bowie also.

That's fine, but much like The Beatles, I don't want to hear it.

We are in complete agreement

James Brown and Stevie Wonder would agree
