Dylan fans aren't annoying. They are kinda like him at this point, they are just there.

What’s annoying about Replacement’s fans ?

Those that mentioned The Beatles' or Billy Joel's fans are nuts.

What if the band would have despised the audience? I can't imagine Bob Marley would have liked frat boys grooving to his Greatest Hits album.

On the other hand, his fans have produced d-bag comments like the one Will Smith's character, speaking in an earthy, gravelly voice to evoke Seriousness, relates in I Am Legend: "MMMM, Bob Marley, man. He was like a virologist, and he believed you could cure racism and hate."

Bob Dylan fans are just wrong, and Phish fans are like vegans and Crossfitters. You find out about their fandom immediately and every 15 minutes for the remainder of their time on earth.

I'll get revenge on pittmike for the Nirvana comment, but one band whose fan base has always annoyed me with their weird devotion is Paramore. Fans of the Melvins and Mudhoney used to think that every other band from north of San Fran and West of SLC were poseurs.

In my school, the kids at the freak trees loved RR even before his death. I think crazy train was out like a year before he died. The faithful knew everything about him and would not shut up. I can still remember people describing how he would play every third note in the studio or some shit so it would sound perfect... Blah blah blah. You're totally right, afterward they were insufferable.

The worst part of Nirvana fandom is that with no actual Nirvana to channel their passion into, they've had to bifurcate it into elevating Pearl Jam and the Foo Fighters into the living-legend status Nirvana could never have.

Consider yourself part of the problem. Hard to call out an entire fan group when there are so many loser groupies all over the place. Get the right ass hole trumpeting the wrong band and anyone can easily say "ALL XXX fans are losers".
