Greatest American Guitarist.

Plays as well as Page on the acoustic guitar and had a voice to go with it.

Neil Young said Stills is a "musical genius." Look at who is calling who what.

Hendrix is a "noise-maker" compared to Stills, the true composer.

I'm not sure he was even the greatest guitarist in his own band.

Duane Allman
Jimi
SRV
Albert King

That's just a small sampling of better American guitarists.

Albert King was nothing more than a shadow of Bernard.

You people know nothing about guitar playing or taste in music.

I only remember Steven Still for the accordion in Prometheus.

Led Zeppelin emulated CSN&Y on Zeppelin III and IV.

Where did that sound come from? CSN's first LP was all Stills instrumentally.

If Stills was so good you'd think rappers would drop his name more especially because it rhymes with so many words.

That's 99% like.

If Jimmy Page emulated him and Young said he was a genius, what does that make you? A fool.

This was a trouncing.

Yes, only a fool doesn't take "likes" seriously.

I said nothing about Stephen Stills (if you love the guy so much, spell his name correctly). I mocked your specious reasoning.

That's not good, it's pretty bad imo. It sounded out of tune as well. Bad lyrics, instrumental, beat..awful song all around.

Slash, with his acoustic songs, has a Steven Stills flavor to his playing. You can hear it on Patience and Civil War.

They played together in a benefit concert for Les Paul with Steve Vai.

So all those people gave false likes then, because they couldn't actually be real. How deluded and stupid are you?

For someone to have 99% likes, he must be incredibly good. The ratio is the same with the two other songs I posted.

If you don't like Stills, you understand nothing about America or American music.

Pointing to the number of "likes" as proof of anything is ridiculous. When it comes to any art form, there is no best ever. To suggest otherwise comes across as very insecure.

You should probably call me more names. You know, really show me how right you are.

Gangnam Style has 13 million likes. Psy must be the greatest of all time.

This is what you can't get your brain around.

It's one thing to be technically excellent on guitar, which Stills is. He is a master of rock, folk, and blues, not to mention polyphony.

But it's another thing entirely to be Americana---the sound of America. Stills is in his own category of genius. He really should be on Mt. Rushmore.

Here's a superb article about him. http://www.nybooks.com/articles/2017/08 ... en-stills/

How would you know if it was out of tune, if someone didn't tell you? Based on your meatball comments, you couldn't possibly play an instrument, much less guitar.

You probably haven't smoked ever, either.

I still haven't said a word about Stephen Stills. I am mocking the idea that there is a best ever in any form of art, and that the number of internet likes means anything.

Keep trying. You'll get it.

I'd put money down on me being the least capable person on this board playing any musical instrument. That's irrelevant though..i love music, I know what i like and what I don't..I know it sounds out of tune, I could be wrong but thats my opinion.
