This pretty much rules out a headlining spot at Lollapalooza, which I thought would be the start of their "reunion".

I put reunion in quotes because isn't this basically the same lineup Billy trotted out there during their last run of shows?

Iha showed up for a handful of songs at a couple of stops...Jimmy Chamberlin was back for the Manson tour in 2016

You?

Easy there, Mr. Moneybags.
I got 2 in section 310.
I saw SP at the Aragon with Pearl Jam and RHCP when I was in high school, and was also
real close to the stage for one of the Siamese Dream release shows at Metro, so for this one
I just needed to be in the building, total was $110.50 because I bought parking too, like a dummy.

Geez, I saw Depeche Mode at the World in 1990. Stunned they're still going. Last time I saw them was 1998 at the Horizon, met Martin Gore after the show in a bar and he awkwardly shook my hand as when I reached out he had a cig in one hand and a drink in the other. Good times.

Jesus Christ, I think we're the same person. Did you play pool with Fletcher at Raw Bar too?

 I have no idea what bar that even was. In 90 I went with my HS girlfriend and we were still friends so we went in 98 and she said she heard what bar they were going to be at after the show. So we went to whatever dive it was and the band playing at the bar talked shit about all the people who were there just to see DM and eventually the guys rolled in. Gore was surrounded by tall skinny models the whole night but the lady still went up to him and talked for a few seconds as he was her favorite. I just happened to walk by him as we were passing in a hall. Didn't plan to go out of my way to see him, but recognized him through the haze of black lights and smoke.

HA. One of my good friends was/is in Stabbing Westward and they were the support for DM on that 98 tour, so he got me on the list and I stood behind Billy Corgan in the gated off mix desk area. It was my job to get my friend to the afterparty, which ended up being downstairs at Metro, (I meant Smart Bar, not Raw Bar above) and everyone got shitfaced and I played pool with Fletcher and I think Gore was there. I was told that Dave went straight to the hotel because he was sober and didn't do after parties anymore. Damn, 20 years ago....

Stadium tour seemed strange to me from the start. They were never that big.

Yea, I found the announcing of an arena tour odd as well. They only had one really popular album.

I never really got into them but Zero is badass song to headbang too.

The NBA stadium tour was ambitious to begin with (to be nice) even when D'arcy's involvement was still plausible.
I don't know if the fanbase is really that salty and therefore protesting by not buying tickets, or if Billy's ego has finally
written the proverbial check that his ass can't cash. Let's be honest. No one gives a shit about James, and D'Arcy, other than
some sort of bullshit allegiance to a 'true' reunion. SP has always been Billy, and (mostly) Jimmy.
But announcing that the setlist would be culled exclusively from the James and D'Arcy era, I can see why people have raised their eyebrows. D'Arcy seems like a total whackjob victim mentality trainwreck, and she claims she has all the proof that Billy has lied about including her, but they both seem like total hassles to be around. I don't know who to believe, but I really don't care either.
I am going to the UC, I will probably love it, and I maintain that SP were/are light years ahead of their 90's alt-rock contemporaries.

I should check more of their stuff out. For some reason they never piqued my interest when I was a kid eventhough I liked songs like Zero (one of my favorite ever songs), Bullet With Butterfly Wings and Tonight (beautiful song). I never owned a Pumpkins album though.

Anyone wanna recommend me some good stuff from them that's not one of their hit songs? Their heavier stuff that jams preferably.

Saw Jack White last night in Milwaukee. It was one of the best concerts I've seen in a long time. I wasn't sold on his new album, but after seeing him preform some of the tracks I can totally appreciate it. Got a true encore too. House lights up, stage being broken down and he came back out. He has a cell phone ban and it certainly impacted the experience and energy in the room. 3,000 people engaged in the show and not obsessed with checking out what was happening elsewhere. The giant stuffed zebra helped too.

Jack White had been rocking the Rave's Eagles Ballroom for 95 minutes, encore included, when he smiled, lined up with his bandmates at the end of the stage and took a bow.

Then the house lights came on, roadies started stripping the stage and the sound of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World" filled the ballroom.

Sorry, Louis. The world was not wonderful. Because there was one huge problem: White hadn't played the White Stripes' "Seven Nation Army," arguably the most beloved song he's ever made.

You've been to enough concerts to know once cords are unplugged, lights are on and the music plays, there's no going back.

But the thousands of fans on the ballroom floor would not stand down.
