I don't go to many shows anymore but excited to see these guys as well as opening act Field Report. Should be a memorable concert.

Yeah I don't know what that means. I don't smoke anything so I guess it won't bother me one way or the other.

Not that I am aware of. I have no idea but would assume the same goes for vaping and stuff. Pretty sure there will be some
weed there.

dude it used to be a badge of honor to hit the shower after a concert and when the water hit your hair and it smelled like an ashtray for a few seconds it was like "yeah I was just at a show"

Plus in early 06 the month old smoking ban literally got a bitch ass friend of mine to literally say "you can meet aceyalone next time" cuz his cigarette > me meeting my rap hero. Of course I did actually meet aceyalone next time, but that's another story for another day.

Recently my advertising agency ended a long relationship with Lucky Strike cigarettes, and I’m relieved.

For over 25 years we devoted ourselves to peddling a product for which good work is irrelevant, because people can’t stop themselves from buying it. A product that never improves, that causes illness, and makes people unhappy. But there was money in it. A lot of money. In fact, our entire business depended on it. We knew it wasn’t good for us, but we couldn’t stop.

And then, when Lucky Strike moved their business elsewhere, I realized, here was my chance to be someone who could sleep at night, because I know what I’m selling doesn’t kill my customers.

So as of today, Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce will no longer take tobacco accounts. We know it’s going to be hard. If you’re interested in cigarette work, here’s a list of agencies that do it well: BBDO, Leo Burnett, McCann Erickson, Cutler Gleason & Chaough, and Benton & Bowles.

As for us, we welcome all other business because we’re certain that our best work is still ahead of us.

Sincerely,

Donald F. Draper
Creative Director
Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce.

Depeche Mode sold more tickets last year than most of the biggest acts including Ed Sheerhan and Bruno Mars. Depeche Mode is great!

This pretty much rules out a headlining spot at Lollapalooza, which I thought would be the start of their "reunion".

I put reunion in quotes because isn't this basically the same lineup Billy trotted out there during their last run of shows?

I assume since you put 2/17 you're going to the outdoor thing and not their 'aftershow' ?

Jack White & Franz Ferdinand both have new albums out & neither have anything scheduled that weekend (or in Chicago) so they must be playing.

Yeah, by the looks of Jack White's tour schedule, he's definitely going to be headlining a night at Lollapalooza.

What's weird is I've only seen it very recently, but I think I became aware of Tuvan throat singing reading about it when it came out. It's an amazing story, but I didn't much care for the movie.

The rigsby on the capitol square you can smoke cigars

But they don't seem to filter the air at all and it's a small bar with only a few tables so it gets hard to breathe in there.

But if she smokes she pokes and if you go there around 10pm on a Friday night there's always some b's hangin out

Just got our tickets for Smashing Pumpkins at the UC on August 13.
Also going there for U2 on 5/23.

I've still never seen a Bulls or Hawks game there though.

Geez, I saw Depeche Mode at the World in 1990. Stunned they're still going. Last time I saw them was 1998 at the Horizon, met Martin Gore after the show in a bar and he awkwardly shook my hand as when I reached out he had a cig in one hand and a drink in the other. Good times.

 I have no idea what bar that even was. In 90 I went with my HS girlfriend and we were still friends so we went in 98 and she said she heard what bar they were going to be at after the show. So we went to whatever dive it was and the band playing at the bar talked shit about all the people who were there just to see DM and eventually the guys rolled in. Gore was surrounded by tall skinny models the whole night but the lady still went up to him and talked for a few seconds as he was her favorite. I just happened to walk by him as we were passing in a hall. Didn't plan to go out of my way to see him, but recognized him through the haze of black lights and smoke.

Easy there, Mr. Moneybags.
I got 2 in section 310.
I saw SP at the Aragon with Pearl Jam and RHCP when I was in high school, and was also
real close to the stage for one of the Siamese Dream release shows at Metro, so for this one
I just needed to be in the building, total was $110.50 because I bought parking too, like a dummy.
