Overplayed an overrated are two different things. That Green Day song and Smells Like Teen Spirit are both wildly overplayed. I don't think they were necessarily overrated, they're pretty decent songs on their own they just got played out.

If they called it a day after "Blood Sugar Sex Magic," they would be remembered as a great band. Everything since then sounds the same to me.

It is more a case of having next to zero knowledge or recognition of bands/songs. I play Spotify and Pandora all the time.

I would never go to a concert. Just not a big fan of anything in particular.
