Not every one but there are a few bands (normally the hall of famers or whatever status you wish to give) that have 3 record run of almost perfect. Example for me Springsteen: BTR, Darkness and the River.

I dig those 3 Springsteen albums...add in The Wild, The Innocent, & the E Street Shuffle to that list...then it all goes to hell with Nebraska.

Pink Floyd - Pigs

(I think David Gilmour actually played bass on that instead of Roger Waters.)

So for bass as was mentioned most anything Rush. I would add Squire even though Yes annoys me. Entwistle sure is busy a lot but I am not sure I can pick one of his song's lines.

That's a good one. I'd also add Money to the list.

Also, Roundabout

Money should always be considered.

I feel like Entwistle's bass lines were so heavy and thumping that they blended in with the crash drum playing from Keith Moon and it all just kind of melded together.

What about Geezer Butler on NIB?

Focus on the bass line on "The Real Me" and it will jump out at you. Entwistle drives the song.

That is a good one...I love the Who, so I've been digging through the music on my phone to see if something jumped out at me.

Little Creatures and True Stories were good albums...85-86 respectively. Naked is where the wheels come off...although (Nothing But) Flowers was a solid song with a good bass line.

For all the great songs they had, they're more or less evenly distributed; no album towers above the rest and there's not a terrible one, either. It's that or Outlandos d'Amour, which is diamond-solid (more than rock-solid, you see) up through "Truth Hits Everybody" and then falls off a cliff. Synchronicity is about two-thirds classic and one-third crap.

I still hold a grudge that Behind My Camel beat YYZ for the Grammy that year.

Ha, Sting didn't even play on it...refused to so Summers did and then allegedly Sting stole the master tape. Had no problem collecting the Gammy though, besides Other Ways of Stopping was better imho.

Couple of Who songs dominated by incredible bass

The Real Me

Trick of the Light...Almost everything you think is guitar is actually an 8 string bass.

He's pretty fun to watch. It's a shame that band fell apart.

Roger Waters is one of the least musical people in a mainstream, hailed group.

Couldn't sing, purportedly couldn't play bass either (Gilmour plays a ton of bass on those albumns, just ask him)

Could come up with lyrics and concepts though....

Nothing too complicated, but just solid and several key changes.
Just a great song.
