Saw them twice with my Dad in the early 2000's. They had gone thru lineup changes galore, but Ian Anderson was still running around doing his thing, Martin Barre was the guitarist, and Doane Perry had been their drummer for MANY years. Both shows were really good. Interesting crowd too.

Shame that Anderson and Barre had some sort of falling out and now do their own thing separately.

I saw Tull a few times. Loved them. Something happened after 95 or so though where Anderson’s voices got very nasally/tinny. I wouldn’t bother again.

Saw Tull at Northwestern in the 70's. Good memories of that.

Me too. I was pretty young and didn’t know who he was and was there for Clapton. Went with my older siblings. I also saw Jerry’s last show but that was more coincidence too as I was literally just there to party and not as a big fan.

Saw them at the first Lola. I have seen them since. They played a show at the Metro in the 90’s with Flea on bass. The surprise opener was Smashing Pumpkins. I missed that show because I was poor and I regret that greatly.


I have never seen GnR. I worked in the industry and have seen many bands but that is one I want to see. I would have killed to see the GnR, Metallica, Faith No. ore tour but the closest it came was Detroit.

I also have not seen Faith No More but I am planning this year at Tinley. Won’t be the same without Martin though. I have see. Tomahawk.

I’ve seen Bowie 5 times and you who missed him absolutely missed something. He was such a pro.

And now that I think about it, I saw the Flaming Lips at the Aragon as an opening act before they blew up. It was early 90s. Not sure who the headliner was. I saw several Material Issue concerts there. I saw Counting Crows too. Damn, this is making me fell old realizing this was nearly 30 years ago.

AiC was great. Weakest show was when they headlined Lollapalooza, but even that was still good.

A friend asked I wanted to go up to the last show. I passed.

I missed a chance to see the Ramones on the U of C campus in 79 because I was too stupid to just lie and say that I was going to stay overnight at a classmate' s home. I wouldn't have joined in, but I wouldn't minded seeing the orgy that allegedly took place at Ida Noyes Hall afterwards.

And yes, your list is a no doubter.

I once saw the Brian Setzer Orchestra at House of Blues, and I have to say the wall of sound that big band threw off the stage that night was truly unbelievable. They sounded great and it was a unique experience.
