Funeral, the Cars s/t, Outlandos d'Amour, Music From Big Pink. I'm a big fan of Get Away From Me but I don't expect much Nellie McKay chat on the Chicago Fanatics Message Board.

My Aim Is True kicks ass, but I think This Year's Model is even better, and some people would say Imperial Bedroom is his best (not me).

Beastie Boys, Guns n Roses, Talking Heads, NWA, The Who, Velvet Underground, Run DMC, Eminem. Lot of great albums were debuts. Jimi Hendrix and Black Sabbath.

My Aim Is True paired with This Year's Model was my favorite 2-in-1 CD-R back when I first started driving. I don't think Pretenders II is nearly as good as the debut, though.

Definitely the last impactful debut for me. It had leaked for some time before I heard it, so expectations were high and it absolutely delivered.

It was one of those transcendental musical moments where the first listen is the best listen.

Yep, it wasn't just great on its own merits, it felt like something completely new. Of course, by now, we're all tired of whoa-oh-oh songs with tambourines, but at the time it was magical. But man, did that band get bad.
