I liked Extreme - but, no.

They had a decent debut, then a stellar second album with a #1 and a top Ten hit (right in the middle of the grunge explosion) - then put out a bloated, self-important 3rd album that comparatively tanked. By the time they put out their 4th album, they were pretty much forgotten about, and their drummer left during the recording of it.

Pornograffiti was fkn excellent. I saw that tour at the Riverside Theater in 1991. Agree on the 3rd. It was too slick. Midnight Express on the 4th album is a great acoustic instrumental. Nuno's solo album was ok.

The Smashing Pumpkins should be in.

I object to the entire idea of a rock and roll hall of fame, but if you're going to have one, think of how absurd it is to have the Foo Fighters in it and not the Smashing Pumpkins. It would be like a football hall of fame where Tom Fears is in and Tommy Nobis isn't. Oops!
