I never thought much about him, but I saw an interview with him recently. He seemed pretty cool.

His vocal work on Steely Dan's "Peg" is killer.

I read in the paper that Cage The Elephant has a new one out this week as well. Just an FYI.... thought you were a fan.

I do like them. I didn't even know there was a new album in the works.

My mistake it comes out July 28th. It was in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel albums coming out this week. Anyway, here is the breakdown...

Earlier this year, Cage the Elephant took their “Live & Unpeeled” tour to select cities across the US. The band brought along a string section and new arrangements of their songs, presenting fans with a rare stripped-down experience from the noted rockers. Those shows were also recording sessions, however, and now the sound of Cage unplugged is coming home as the band’s latest album, Unpeeled.

They (Cage the Elephant) are actually probably my favorite band (that wasn't playing in the 90s or earlier) right now....

I listened a bit yesterday (mostly just on in my office in the background) and then today I'm trying to pay attention more.

It's "good." Similar to every other 311 album since Don't Tread On Me, honestly. A couple of really good tracks, then a bunch of solid 311 tracks, and then a couple of misses.

Can't ask for a ton more for a band on their 12th album.

In honor of my friend, Hockey Gay, I'm going to enjoy Peace Sells and Death Magnetic on my drive home today. I'd listen to Rust In peace, but these 2 are superior.

Cage the Elephant is a GREAT band.

"Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" was an awesome song, "Shake Me Down" was very good, "Come a Little Closer" was boring, and "Cigarette Daydreams" was an atrocity. I just can't explore their diminishing returns any further.

I still like them...but I feel less and less cool about it as they have become an XRT staple...

The first 3 songs are perfect....but it settles into average after that.
