I like Radio City a little better but still, good call.

"Cartoon"- great song. Probably because Pirner didn't write it.

 That album holds a special place for me - at least the first five songs.

Never got into Soul Asylum but I did like their song Summer of Drugs on the Victoria Williams Benefit album.

I'm listening to something inspirational and uplifting with a positive message for the youth. You know how I do.

That's a great record. Victoria Williams is too odd as a singer to really let her songs shine on her own, but that album really shows her as the great songwriter she is.

Williams is just a little older than I am. And "Summer of Drugs" perfectly captures my high school experience in the same way the Dazed and Confused movie does. All that hippie shit was almost over and things were a little meaner, including the drugs.

The best song on there is "Opelousas". Maria McKee is probably the best singer of her generation. Certainly the best that a lot of people haven't heard of.

Yeah, I had kind of forgotten about this album, might give it a spin later on. A lot of nice songs on there. I have some of her music at home but I don't
remember if it was some kind of compilation or what. Like you mentioned, she is in that Dylan vein where she is a great writer but you may not
necessarily want to hear her sing her own stuff but rather defer to someone with a better voice. She sounds like she has been smoking since she
was 3 years old.
