Whether it be on the radio, on your MP3 or iPod or wherever you do hear them, we all have songs that you'll pretty much never skip over or PTFB on the radio when they come on. ( For you Seinfeld fans, no Desperado gif's will be allowed) What are yours? I'll start with out with " Melissa" by The Allman Brothers, whom I'm not really a huge fan of by any means but there is something about this song that just gets it done for me.

I don't know, badrogue. This is probably, like, hundreds of songs for everybody.

We have a contemporary hits type Muzak station in the back at work. There's about five Taylor Swift songs in heavy rotation. I've gotten to know them well enough to make up my own words, and they are absolutely filthy. I cannot even overstate how depraved they are. I blush when I'm singing them in my head. She's eighteen, right?

"Cold as Ice" by Foriegner. It reminds me of my wife.

Seriously, I'm not a big Eagles fan,but I never switch off "Hotel California".
I think it's poetry set to great music.
Yes,I know it is about drug use or is it?

Well all I can do is speak for myself as far as that is concerned obviously but there are a fuckton of songs I like but very few I'll listen to every time I hear them. Some are overplayed to death and even on an iPod which are songs that Ive personally loaded there are times when Im maybe not in the mood to hear some of them and will skip them. I figure most everyone has a few songs that'll grab you if not every time, most every time.

In terms of must-listen songs to by artists (or eras) I could take or leave, "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young and "Suspicious Minds" by Elvis come to mind. "Come Sail Away" by Styx, too.

Anything featuring Pitbull. I view it kind of like zeroing a scale before use.

Since bigfan was brave enough, I too will come out of the closet as a Hall & Oates fan. I won't turn off "Rich Girl", "Sara Smile", or "She's Gone".

Is that "Float On" by the Floaters or by Modest Mouse? I wouldn't turn off either of them.

I'll raise my hand sheepishly ala Ox in Stripes for "Sara Smile" too, that definitely gets the whole play treatment. Seeing as its that time of the year as well, I'll throw in "Another Auld Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg and the instrumental version of " Christmas Time is Here" by Vince Guiraldi.

Agreed on "Sara Smile" and "She's Gone". 2 very underrated songs that get full spins anytime I hear them. I'll throw in "Adult Education" for the H & O trifecta.

"Lido Shuffle" also on my list.

Hall and Oates hold up very well in my book. Also like my Boz... had an old NFL game for the Commodore 64 where you could design your own plays and I had two backs that would run around in circles and the QB would hopefully hand off to one of them -- called it the Lido Shuffle.

Two more that I haven't been able to get out of my head recently are "Year Of The Cat" and "You Can Call Me Al."

Year of the Cat is a good one if only because it's not overplayed . That aside , it's a cool song. Al Stewart doesn't get his due.
