I love it. I think it's underrated.

Was ether on that album? I used to think ether was an all right diss track but it's got nothing on hit em up. Plus the attacks on Jay's looks were lame.

I've made it known earlier in the thread that I'm not the world's biggest Tupac fan. In fact, I think the guy is severely over loved by fans and other artists. That being said, he never sounded better than his appearance on MC Breed's

Ain't No Future In Yo Frontin.

Yes, it was. Ether was great. Some of the anti gay stuff comes across differently but at the time it was different.

I thought Ether was good also. I always assess diss tracks by their ability to change perceptions. Nas definitely changed people's perception of Jigga. Jigga had been hammering Nas for a few years and Nas slowed him down with Ether.

And the Stillmatic freestyle was great too.

But what I dont like is the people now saying "oh he just called him gay and it's 2015 so im gonna act like i always thought that was out of line"

Hip hop was HUGELY anti-gay at that time and still pretty much is, so save the manufactured outrage.

Ok, so I couldn't name one 2chainz song to save my life, but I can tell you that his verse on de la soul feat 2chainz - whooodini cracked me the fuck up like "hey wow if you're gonna be a punchline rapper make me laugh."

(2chainz verse starts around 1:15-1:20 or something. 2nd verse)

Then you can check the comments and see that ppl say that 2chainz has the best verse on the whole ALBUM. A de la album. Wouldn't surprise me cuz i've been saying the whole native tongues clique (tribe, roots, de la) is overrated for ~20yrs now =P

Until yesterday, I never knew DMX's "Get at Me Dog" was an EPMD sample originally. Love me some EPMD, so admitting this is embarrassing.

So tonight I just discovered some rapper named Logic.... This dude can rap! Also his music videos tend to have a style/aesthetic about them thst remind me of some of the ideas I had for the sinicalypse music videos I never got around to making (don't worry, I eventually will)

Listening to a bunch of this Logic dude's shit, yeah, when a guy with legit skill/s like this gets signed to def jam it gives me some hope for the music world! So far this is my favorite out of the bunch of his tracks thst I've been discovering tonight....
