Anyone else listening to this guy? Heard is "Nobody to Blame" song on XM and liked it, did a little research on the guy and came away quite impressed. Then started seeing his album listed as the best country album of the year by several publications. I think it even won CMA album of the year.

Bought it last week and have been listening to it since. Guy is quite an impressive song writer. Album is on the slow slide, not really a country rock type of album, but damn is it good.

Hawg mentioned this guy maybe middle of last year and again in the year end album thread I think. I gave the album a spin but just didn't connect with me.
He definitely has some talent.

Gave it a listen. Not bad. Luke Bryan does not click with me either. Just not a so called country fan.

That wasn't even worthy of a 1/2 Hanley. Like an 1/8.

New album for Stapleton drops first week of May!

Heard the first song on the radio and its good. No surprise there. This guy is as talented as anyone making music these days.

heard the first single on XM several times this weekend, Broken Halos, and its really good.

I think there is also a Willie Nelson cover of "last think I needed first thing this morning" on the album.

Volume 1 of the new album dropped today. 9 songs including a cover of Willie Nelson's "last thing I needed first thing this morning". Volume 2 comes out later this year. So basically 2 new albums in one year!

So far its really good, not surprising. Not my favorite song, but gotta love "them stems" which is all about running low on weed and resorting to smoking the stems. We've all been there, but thankfully not since high school/college.
