Good times. CHICKENS! Was that at the Odeum? Who was in the main event for that show? That wasn't the Sid debut was it? Yes. This show was mostly for a TNT taping. RVD vs. Lance Storm. No ... but it was the debut of Rhyno (w/ Steve Corino pushing Jack Victory around in the wheelchair). Also, some whacko launched a chair into the ring while the Dudleys were inciting a riot, and it only got worse after that. I legit thought they were gonna have to call the cops. It got bad enough even the RF Video cut out some of it (not that I could tell you where my copy is at the moment). Also, I fucked up (begin chanting) ... the opener was obviously Roadkill & Doring (aka Muffin Ass), against Chetti & Nova. I'm old, and it was a long time ago. I loved Old School Corino with Jack Victory. Speaking of Victory, I was recently watching Chi-Town Rumble 89 on the network and damn if Victory didn't wrestle twice on the show. First up he took on P.S. Hayes in the opener as Russian Assassin 1 and then he tagged with Condrey and Heyman as the original Midnight Express against Bobby Eaton, Stan Lane and Cornette. I don't ever remember Victory being an original member of any faction, but hey Brad Muster was in the front row sitting next to a young Dave Meltzer, so it's worth checking out. Oh and there was a little match between Flair and Steamboat that's pretty okay too. |

Maybe it's just me, but Magnum TA standing there by good ol' (young) JR at the start of the PPV has a Sam Elliot look going on (minus the golden tresses of course). |

No one comes close to Arn for a spinebuster. His were a thing of beauty. HHH would probably be a distant 2nd IMO. |

![]() The fact that Andre needed two seats on a plane is not surprising, but what I find amusing is the pair of white Asics he's rocking. Only other shoes that would have been stranger to see would've been a pair of Lotto's. |

Former writer breaks down the RAW GM angle. Eck said that he wanted the Anonymous Raw GM to be Kevin Nash, with the idea that Nash had to keep his identity secret due to being under contract to TNA. It would be revealed that the e-mails were being sent from the production truck, and when investigated, Kevin Nash would be there in a wizard's hat, a play off of his WCW Oz character. The storyline was dropped right before Eck made it to the WWE, but says that ideas were pitched on occasion to finish the storyline. One writer joked that Hornswoggle should be revealed as the Raw GM, because the payoff of him being revealed as McMahon's son was so bad. They thought it was so ridiculous that McMahon may go for it. "The idea was that after Hornswoggle was outed as the GM, he'd reveal who he truly was," Eck wrote, "saying that his name was Lou Manfredini (the last name of one of the writers), he would speak with a W.C. Fields-like accent, chomp on cigars and refer to women as 'dames.'" Hornswoggle was eventually going to become a heel manager, and Vince McMahon greenlit the idea. However, Hornswoggle couldn't fit the role when they tried it out, and he wasn't given much time to prepare for it. Eck said that the angle was so bad that Vince McMahon actually apologized to Jerry Lawler for involving him in it. |
