I think that was originally the plan, but I'm not sure since he's been literally shit on by crowds since his debut.

He isn't useless but his impact is definitely stunted. He can recover from it by squashing people like Ivan suggests, but that just buries other people on your roster. He'll be OK but not quite the unstoppable monster heel you would have thought they would want with bringing him in. I still don't agree with Cena going over in this match (and that doesn't take away from the great match that it was).

Perhaps it was the Kurt Angle factor during Brock's original run. Brock pretty much wrestled nobody else in 2003 (which encompassed the majority of his time in WWE). I never thought Brock was all that good even back then, but Kurt Angle could make any stiff look competent in the ring.

If his merchandise sales plummet to the point where fans actively stop buying his stuff (like with Hogan in WCW), maybe. Otherwise, I strongly doubt it.

It really isn't. As long as he beat the hell out of Cena (which he did), it doesn't realy matter how it finished. I'm curious to see how they will use him on RAW going forward. Can't save all his matches for PPV...
