He's the one man band baby!!!

They lost some good talent in Sandow and Barrett though Barrett left on his own. I still have no idea why Vince continued to shit on Sandow. He was awesome regardless of whatever ridiculous gimmick they would give him. At least he will end up somewhere where I might actually be able to see him on tv more than once per year.

Much like the Cesaro situation, they missed the boat big time on this guy.

Hopefully he goes to Japan and has a great run so when and if he comes back he gets the proper treatment.

Ina weird way I think this was a show of respect for Sandow. People know he's popular enough to go elsewhere and catch on. He had a following while in WWE and those people will pay attention to him wherever he goes.

A guy like Slater is just there. He's never gonna go somewhere else and be anything. So he's kept in the jobber role.

That's Cody Rhodes on his personal Twitter account revealing that he has asked WWE to release him. Rhodes has been working as Stardust dating back to June 2014 but the character never really caught on beyond leading to actor Stephen Amell working a tag match at SummerSlam. He's teased going back to his original character at various points, but it never happened. His father, Dusty Rhodes, who he was very close with, died in June of last year, though it's unclear if that has played a role in his decision here. He said last year that he continued working as the Stardust character to honor his dad.

I was hoping he would come back as Cody. I hated the Stardust thing. He is someone that should have been more than he was. But I am sure the shadow of being Dustys son is a bitch to deal with as well.
