I always enjoyed that PPV in Kansas City where the Blue Blazer descended from the rafters. Although, he never did wrestle that night. Must have just been an appearance.

Lots of good Owen Hart memories. Never got the push he should have in the E. Loved the whole deal with him and DX and them calling him a Nugget. He played that stuff off great.

Owen vs. The 1-2-3 Kid. Best opening to a match ever! Skip to 2:08. It works on so many levels.

I was watching it as it happened. My friend and I thought it was a gimmick. Totally shocked when real stuff happens on a PPV

Me too. I had 3 other guys splitting it. The one guy who was running late was a huge Owen fan.

I greeted him with "Way to miss the first half hour. Pretty sure your guy Owen just died"

This promo from Raw Is War, 12/15/97 between Vince McMahon and Owen Hart. This was Owen's first public promo since Montreal. Right here, he proved he could really work the mic when he wanted to.

This was their opportunity to finally give Owen the ball as a main-eventer, but the most that came out of this was a great match with Shawn two weeks later on Raw that ended in a DQ. After that, he was quickly shoved into a European Title feud with Triple H and then back into the midcard for good.

Real good stuff there. I never understood the knock on Owen that he could not work the mic. He could do anything in the business.

And I know we cannot play "what ifs", but if they made him a main eventer at that point like they should have then he would have never been in that stupid blazer gimmick in 99. He could have had a GREAT run with HBK at the end of 97 and into 98. What a shame...

This was an epic match.

Was that the SNES version where you had to use the shoulder buttons to win the grapple? Great game.

Also, XPAC on that video is a tad bit, uh, messed up.

I do the what-ifs all the time.

Shawn never would've broken his back on that casket, because he would not have been feuding with Owen instead of Undertaker. Thus, Shawn would've never found God because he wouldn't have been out for four years and he would've likely remained the brash asshole that he was.

Also, if Shawn had never missed those four years, he would've retired much sooner. I don't think he would've made it to 2003, which means we'd have never seen Shawn mix it up with Jericho, Cena, Orton, Shelton, Rey, etc.

Good points regarding Shawn. Just wish we could have got to see Owen get the push he deserved.

I'll always remember his Wrestlemania X match with Bret.

He and the British Bulldog were a damn good tag team as well.

Yes. WWF Raw for SNES.

When november and I were kids, we would play that shit daily during the summer. Some epic Bedlams and Royal Rumbles.

I didn't think you kids still played SNES what with the XBox 360 and it's HD graphics.

I was in St. Louis for RAW the night after he died. Such an odd experience. Even more to depressing to think that was thirteen years ago today.

some good links up there. good stuff.

Wrestlemania X is my Owen moment.

He was programmed with HBK after the screw job and HBK refused to work with him.

Example #542 of why HBK is a selfish sob.

Also still trying to figure out why Shawn thought calling Owen a piece of shit was good heat.

Seriously? It was part of the deal for that time period. It was actually tame compared to some of the other things they did to draw heat.
