This is a story only the boxing guys will appreciate.

I may have mentioned before that I run a private Italian Men's Club. Well, the club is going through some growing pains as the younger members butt heads with some of the founders. We had a meeting to discuss the future of the club and go over the member roster, where everyone stood with their dues and tabs, etc.

One of the members is a guy named John L. Sullivan. An Irishman. Yeah, I know, would you believe it? (He met some of the guys in Knights of Columbus. ) So we're sitting around and the Treasurer calls off his name: "John L. Sullivan." He's going down the list and calling off more names and he gets to a guy one of the younger members brought in- Jim Corbett. One of the old mustaches says, "Who the fuck is Jim Corbett?" I didn't miss a beat. "That's the guy who's gonna beat the shit out of John L. Sullivan."
